What started as a small group with a big vision quickly became reality. In 1965, a handful of passionate locals came together to build a golf course “for the good of Squamish” – and by July 1, 1967, Squamish Valley Golf Club officially opened as a 9-hole course, built on determination, community support, and countless volunteer hours.
Just two years later, it expanded to 18 holes, carving out its place as one of the province’s standout courses. The early days weren’t without grit – literally. Built on a former riverbed, members famously helped clear rocks from the fairways as they played, shaping the course one round at a time. Over the years, SVGC has continued to grow and evolve, with thoughtful redesigns and major renovations, most recently in 2023–2024. Today, it blends play-ability with natural beauty, offering an unforgettable experience at every turn.
More than 50 years later, the heart of the Club remains the same: a welcoming place rooted in community, surrounded by stunning scenery, and built for the love of the game. Generations of golfers have walked these fairways, and the story of Squamish Valley Golf Club continues with every round.
